Maritime procession at Cagraray

Maritime procession at Cagraray

     Cheerful faces in colorful boats sailing on the sea! This best describes the 32nd maritime procession held at Namanday, Cagraray Island, Bacacay, Albay on August 13, 2011. Held in honor of Our Lady of Salvation, the activity was on  the theme "Our Lady of Salvation: Joy and Hope of the Island People of God".
     The annual expression of devotion to the Blessed Mother was hosted by the Sacred Heart Mission Parish, at Cabasan, Bacacay, Albay, under the pastoral care of Rev. Fr. Richard Benavente, SOLT, with his assisting deacon, Rev. Leonardo Besmonte Jr., SOLT.
     Participated in by devotees from neighboring islands, the procession started at 6:00 a.m. and  culminated with the Mass concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Roger Abalon, SOLT, Regional Priest Servant with some SOLT Fathers. The Seraphim Choir composed of some college men sang during the Eucharistic Celebration. Blessing of images and motor boats followed right after the Mass. A cultural presentation was also held after lunch.
